Business Analyst

Job Profile:

Business Analyst shares the responsibility of defining business transactions with the Order to Cash and Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics functional business users consistent with the strategic direction of Hill-Rom. The business analyst manager will rely on this person to understand the business needs, enable those needs within the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, and verify that the transactions are processing as expected.

As plans for business changes evolve, including new process requirements, integration of acquisitions, or removal of divestitures, the Business Analyst of the affected areas must evaluate the impact of the change, participate in developing a plan to implement the change, and implementation of the change through the ERP software to insure seamless integration within the functional business organizations. As part of the integration process, effective communication and education of the organizational and system impacts of such changes is crucial.

A critical element of this process will be coordination with the other Business Analysts to identify and include all areas affected by the requirements. Because the vast majority of Hill-Rom’s transactions are processed within the confines of ERP, these analysts are critical to the continued health and future improvement of Hill-Rom’s business.

Business Analyst will focus on the Order to Cash, Service, Engineering and Quality modules of the ERP systems including Order Entry, Service, Service Work Orders, Item Master, Item Branch, Bill of Materials, Routings, CRCO (Change Request / Change Order) process, and NCM (Non-Conforming Material) process.

Responsibilities:

1.Act as liaisons between business users and business processes within the Enterprise Software system including but not limited to Agile and JDE
2.Ensure fulfillment of the business requirements within the Enterprise Software system including but not limited to Agile and JDE
3.Tactical Planning in alignment with strategic business direction
4.Determine the business requirements for the ERP system by attending their primary customer’s staff meetings and planning sessions as appropriate.
5.Supply an ERP perspective to business users on proposed changes in business processes.
6.Translate business requirements into assignments and tasks. Develop a ‘project plan’ with tasks, resource requirements, timelines, dependencies, and budget.
7.Determine the integration requirements for the project/task and engage the IT Business Applications team to obtain appropriate resources.
8.Monitor and maintain integrity of ERP system.
9.Develop and implement a testing strategy and change control process.
10.Develop the system solution and unit test.
11.Schedule and process an integration test.
12.Schedule and conduct performance test.
13.Cutover planning to insure seamless integration into business application.
14.Document the changes into new scripts if necessary. Update existent scripts if necessary. Provide updated documentation to the Global Learning Center so they can maintain the applicable user documentation.
15.Train members of the Global Learning Center or the business users as necessary.
16.Promote common system solutions and processes across divisional units wherever possible
17.Improve business and technical knowledge skill sets through technical and business process training
18.Utilize external research sources to increase knowledge of best practices and technical solutions
19.Participate in validation pieces of project implementations
20.Organize appropriate work instruction and SOP documentation for project implementations

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Each Business Analyst will:
1.Manage & Lead projects as appropriate based on business process impacted
2.Assume responsibility for proper processing of Hill-Rom’s business processes globally
3.Integrate their area with other ERP areas
4.Monitor and validate data accuracy and integrity in ERP
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Skills: Project management techniques, intimate and thorough knowledge of large, integrated ERP information systems, ability to model business processes within ERP systems, excellent communication skills, and excellent organizational skills

Personal characteristics: Leadership, comfortable with all levels of business personnel, strong individual contributor who can work effectively within a team environment, comfortable with change

Education and/or Experience:
1.BA/BS in Computer Information Systems or Business Management or equivalent experience
2.Five years business experience in discipline
