Business Analyst
Business AnalystLocation: Sandpoint, IDJob Responsibilities:
Supports projects across business units (i.e. Inventory Planning, Merchandising, Retail Store Support, Finance, Distribution etc.) to interview clients (user groups) to understand and define business challenges;
Performs necessary research to present viable solutions to business problems;
Acts as a liaison between IT and clients;
Establishes and maintains communications and rapport with clients;
Analyze existing business processes and perform change management by developing As-is and To-be process analysis;
Contribute and create business process models;
Identify conceptual data;
Contributes to the negotiations of project scope and delivery options with client;
Gathers and documents business and system requirements;
Tracks and documents changes to functional and business requirements;
Create Use Cases and UML Use Case Diagrams;
Responsible for requirements analyses via user interviews, high level designs, and by using UML modeling of user actions;
Participate in vendor identification and selection;
Participate in cost/benefit analysis;
Participates in time and cost estimates for completing small/medium projects;
Collaborates in creating the functional design for new or modified business systems;
Contributes to the design and development of automated business systems;
Provides assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures;
Participates in group meetings and development walkthroughs throughout the SDLC;JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Good analytical skills; ability to perform complex systems analysis and draw conclusions by relating information from different sources, including root-cause analysis and issue resolution
Ability to communicate technical information both orally and in writing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the business community, IT team, and software vendors
Capable of handling multiple projects and prioritize accordingly
Some knowledge of testing methodologies, writing test plans and test scripts.
Ability to plan and effectively implement complex systems
Ability to diagnose application problems quickly and develop effective solutions for them
Ability to prepare documentation, charts, and graphs pertinent to work assignments.
Ability to assess business needs and propose appropriate technical solutions using the latest IT trends and standards
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or MIS, or equivalent work experience
3-5 years experience in applications planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, reporting, and problem diagnosis; or any equivalent combination of experience and training
Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge of technical and business writing
Technical documentation skills
Willingness to document all work according to internal standards
Knowledge of applications development, including systems analysis and design techniques, problem determination, project control, contract/vendor administration and structured system development methodologies
Understanding of technical developments and trends in application analysis, design, and development.
Highly self-motivated and directed
Keen attention to detail
Exceptional customer service orientation
Perform other duties as assignedArea Specific Requirements:
