Primary products include vinyl siding; vinyl, wood and aluminum windows/doors; decking, fencing, and rain carrying gear. Other products may also be sold, depending on need of local market, including such things as carpeting, power tools and metal forming machines.This position reports to the Branch Manager and is responsible for supervising all administrative, warehouse and delivery operations including inside sales, order entry, customer service, accounting, and inventory storage. The incumbent may supervise a combination of the following personnel:Sales Support SpecialistCustomer Service RepresentativeWarehouse LeaderWarehouse PersonTruck DriverOffice ClerkDuties and Responsibilities: Through effective supervision of the Warehouse Leader, assure proper receipt, storage, and delivery of products sold through the branch.
Assure adequate inventory levels to promptly serve customer requirements by placing product orders with company manufacturing plants and outside suppliers.
Maintain branch personnel files and provide data input to the Human Resources Department for all personnel actions.
In conjunction with the Branch or District Manager, select, manage, train and evaluate office, inside sales, warehouse, delivery, and installation staff.
Conduct safety meetings, employee orientation, accident investigation and reporting. Maintain proper records to comply with state and federal accident reporting requirements.
Purchase branch office and warehouse supplies.
Assure compliance with U. S. Department of Transportation rules and licensing requirements. Conduct annual check on delivery personnel driving records.
Supervise the maintenance of branch equipment, including delivery vehicles.
Supervise the administration of financial activities including bank accounts, petty cash, daily bank deposits, and customer remittance.
Supervise preparation and maintenance of customer and credit files.
Supervise preparation of sales invoices and credit memorandums.
Supervise preparation of accounts payable and remit to Home Office.
Responsible for all receivables activity including filing liens, collections, and proper application of customer funds.
Supervise all inventory related activity including ordering inventory, receiving, storing, shipping, filing claims, repairing products, product returns, obsolete inventory, cycle counts and physical inventories.Required Education, Experience and Skills:
Post high school education in a business and accounting discipline, or equivalent on the job training preferred.
Must be skilled in using personal computers or terminals for word-processing, order entry and spreadsheet preparation. Specific software skills may be required.
Two or more years in a clerical/accounting position, preferably in a distribution environment.
In addition, the incumbent must have sound management and interpersonal skills to effectively supervise a diverse staff and interact appropriately with customers, suppliers and employees.Must be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.Owens Corning is an equal opportunity employer REQUIREMENTS
