Shft: PRN/On-CallJob Description:Plans and administers specialized therapeutic recreational, educational, vocational, physical and social activities in one-to-one or group treatment settings adapted to meet individual client needs and abilities. Under supervision of Recreational Therapy Coordinator will assists in the evaluation of clients level of leisure functioning through administering recreational therapy assessments. Under supervision of Recreational Therapy Coordinator will be able to write an appropriate treatment plan including goals to provide quality care to all clients. Organizes, stimulates, and encourages participation in planned individual and group activities; conducts seasonal events and programs. Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies used in the recreation program. Maintains communications network and harmonious working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team and other departments, through participating in staff meetings, quality assurance activities, community health fairs, program development and implementation. Carries out assigned tasks, within the scope of training and abilities as directed by the Recreational Therapy Coordinator.Education and Experience
Preferred: A Bachelor¿s Degree in Recreational Therapy or Human Service field or one year experience in the Behavioral Health field. Required: High School Diploma with at least one year of experience as a Psych Tech.Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Will obtain the following within six months of employment: Basic Life Support - BLS, CPI Certification -CPI, Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting-APS - MR. PEM certification (Child/Adolescent programs) -PEM. Job requires continuous communication skills, frequent reading skills, written communication skills, and computer skills.
