Accounting Manager

Our client, a publicly-traded corporation with retail operations throughout the U.S. and Canada, is seeking a proven leader to join their Accounting/Finance team. This position will reside in their Suburban (O'Hare area) Headquarters. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the V/P-Controller, and will be responsible for the following:

Supervision of 7-10 professional and para-professional staff members.

Preparation and review of financial operating reports.

Coordination of monthly close process.

Preparation and review of ongoing account, trend, and performance analyses.

Budgeting, forcasting and related reconciliations.

General ledger maintenence and report writing.
REQUIREMENTS


4-10 years of Accounting experience, preferrably in a retail or franchise environment. Will also consider candidates directly out of Public Accounting.

Strong supervisory skills, ability to effectively manage a department.

Proficency with Accounting Systems, preferrably AS400, as well as PC skills (Excell and Access).

Experience with Hyperion Financial Management, or related reporting tools is desirable

Strong General Accounting, Monthly Close, Financial Reporting and Budgeting/Forecasting is required.
