Territory Manager - WMC Mortgage Corp
Business Unit: GE MoneyFunction: ManagementResponsibilities: *Supervises and monitors the performance level of the Team Leads, Team Underwriters, Loan Analysts and Funding Liaisons and Production Specialist functions within the assigned territory.
Hires staff and responsible for the development of all employees within the assigned territory.
Responsible for conducting disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Ensures staff understands and adheres to company policies and procedures.
Recommends new and revised policies and procedures as appropriate.
Resolves disagreements among team members and any other position assigned to the territory and BDR.
Maintains professional, ethical, and courteous relationships with both external and internal customers.
Effectively communicates both favorable and adverse loan decisions to brokers and sales.
Monitors daily, weekly, and monthly summary reports of data to ensure performance levels are maintained.
Monitors cost levels created within Division, i.e., overtime, marketing material, etc.
Provides managerial support to achieve volume and profit objectives.
Conducts monthly meetings with all staff including sales.
Works directly with the Regional Production Manager regarding any issues with sales staff.
Cross-trains and performs related duties as directed.
Assist BDRs with loan structuring on a prequalification level.
Ensures data integrity by managing subordinates to follow internal quality control procedures.
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of WMC's loan programs, procedures, lending guidelines, and technological resources and trains subordinates.
Performs other duties as directed by Production Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: *Five plus years experience in reviewing and making credit decisions on residential mortgage loan requests. Three years in a wholesale or correspondent lending sub-prime credit environment.
Extensive knowledge of mortgage banking as it relates to the credit and funding processes.
Excellent planning and problem solving skills.
Competent verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to interact effectively with sales staff, management, and brokers at all levels and across diverse cultures.
Knowledge of residential lending legal and regulatory issues.
Familiarity with systems and quality assurance.
Excellent software skills and knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Internet, MS Word and Excel.
Ability to implement and manage progressive change.Desired: *Two years plus management background preferred.
