Technical Business Analyst --- Compliance and Reporting

As the result of a growing engagement with a top-tier client, they are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join the consulting team. The successful candidate could join the team as a contracted employee, or full-time employee. Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the VP of Business Analyst Group, the Analyst will focus on analyzing the control framework supporting the production of Exchange reports (i.e. OATS, ACT, TRACE, MSRB, etc.) and trading compliance rules and regulations. This is accomplished by working with the business, operations, compliance, and IT managers to improve and maintain the quality of exchange reports trading rules. Specific tasks include: · Proactively assisting the business, operations, compliance, and IT management in understanding the impact of strategic business initiatives on exchange reporting; · Analyzing the distributed workflow front to back to identify the root cause of reporting inconsistencies; · Conducting front office systems analysis (code reviews) to determine their compliance with trading and trade reporting rules · Perform data analysis of front office systems to determine the integrity of the information that is being reported · Recommending systems infrastructure improvements; and · Developing recommendations for process control improvements. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: · Preferred candidate will have 5+ years of technical experience in financial services in building, supporting or auditing front office sales and trading systems. · Experience may have included past responsibility for authoring technical specifications, securities processing, data analysis, and/or compliance related activities. · Experience with trade reporting, trading compliance or regulatory reporting is preferred. · Strong SQL and database analysis skills with particular knowledge of Sybase and UDB · Experience with a number of programming languages (i.e.C, C++, SQL, etc.) · Solid understanding of Equities, Fixed Income, Currency and Commodity products · Strong technical and analytical skills with an ability to understand complex workflows · Experience in the operational servicing of securities processing · Ability to evaluate procedures against compliance and reporting requirements · Strong communication and organizational skills · Ability to liaise with multiple disciplines and functions · High energy, self-starter · Ability to educate oneself in exchange regulations · Strong ability to partner with various stakeholders to understand complex reporting requirements · Developing test scripts · Coordinating user acceptance testing · Developing user requirements documentation · Local to downtown Manhattan The successful candidate, as either a full-time employee or contractor, will be joining a company that is proud of its entrepreneurial environment, encouraging new ideas and approaches, and the freedom to be creative.
