Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will demonstrate: excellent verbal and interpersonal skills and they must have the ability to work independently on specific designated task or in a team environment; They will be able to provide superior customer service; Recognize, prioritize and escalate severe claims according to escalation guidelines and collaborate with team members to meet / exceed customer satisfaction and service.

As a Technology Underwriter, you are accountable for:

• Financial performance of a $6 million book of commercial business.
• Achieving profitable growth for the Baltimore/DC/Richmond territory.
• Successful market penetration and agency management including:
• Acting as the large account manager for large accounts within assigned book,
• Acting as a key contact to build, maintain and manage customer/broker relationships including regular broker visits based on business need,
• Identifying opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources,
• Performing front door management to filter new business and reinforce appetite and
• Conduct agency planning and goal setting including continual monitoring of progress.
• Representing one face to the customer for all Technology INT products and services, including identifying cross sell opportunities.
• Predominately responsible for soliciting, risk selection and analysis (including documentation), pricing and sales of Technology products and services for new business.
• Meeting with new and renewal customers to make sales presentations and negotiate coverage's, price, financial terms and service delivery, as necessary.
• Working in a team environment with Underwriters, Loss Control, Claims and Operations.
• Meeting service standards of a customer focused strategy.
• Collecting and sharing competitor data with team.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Solid knowledge of commercial (insert commercial or personal) underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
• Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge.
• Proven, successful sales skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
• Experience developing marketing plans and handling complex accounts
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum five to ten years of TIS underwriting experience
