ATTENTION SOPHMORE AND JUNIOR ECONOMIC, FINANCE, AND BUSINESS MAJORS:

IMMEDIATE OPENING:

SCOTTRADE, INC. IS A FAST GROWING NATIONWIDE DISCOUNT STOCKBROKERAGE SEEKING A STUDENT INTERN TO WORK 15-20 HOURS PER WEEK FOR TWO SEMESTERS/ONE YEAR. INTERNSHIP OFFERS A CLOSE WORKING ENVIRONMENT WITH BROKERS AND WILL ALLOW FOR GROWTH IN KNOWLEDGE OF BROKERAGE FIELD.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

Strong interest in Finance/Stock Market
Excellent Customer Service Background
Computer Literate/Internet Knowledge
Excellent Verbal/Written Communication Skills
Desire to learn about the Brokerage Industry

(Students will be required to be finger printed and be able to be bonded).


LIST OF TASKS AND DUTIES:

Listen to broker in the office to see how they handle customers, quotes, etc.

Greet customers when they come into the office

Be familiar with commission guide, calculate commissions

Help customers with problems on the Internet

Understand quotes and symbol guides

Give quotes from screen over the phone once understood

Write receipt for stock certificates and checks

Fill out transmittals each evening to the different departments and overnight to St. Louis

Open up branch mail to become familiar with forms, etc.

Be able to explain different types of routine accounts

Look up information for routine new accounts, and then open up routine new accounts with training

Check stocks, LOA’s, etc.

Send emails for stock quotes from trading

Take routine administrative customer’s request and follow up

Navigate through the CRI system, position screen, balance screen, dividend screen, etc.


Salary is $10.00 per hour.
