Sr. Financial Analyst
Position Summary
Performs a broad range of complex accounting duties, including assisting in the preparation of schedules that support the completion of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
Job Specifics
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assisting in the preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP consolidated financial statements, including preparing internal and external financial reports and disclosures that support the Press Release, Forms 10-K and 10-Q, Annual Report to Stockholders. Preparing GAAP and statutory reporting information and disclosures. Ensuring compliance of the GAAP and Statutory Financial Statements with GAAP and Statutory requirements.
Preparing reports to senior management
Performing variance analysis and ad-hoc analysis of data and business issues as requested
Reconciling and analyzing General Ledger accounts
Suggesting changes for improvements to workflow
Implementing controls and ensuring policies, procedures and controls are maintained
Performing other general accounting duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting or other business related (Finance) major with emphasis in accounting, GAAP and SEC reporting experience.
2 years experience in public accounting including experience in GAAP and SEC reporting
Insurance industry experience preferred
Detail-oriented, analytical and thorough.
Strong leadership skills and interest in progress to management.
Strong desire to automate processes and implement controls.
Bachelors degree in Accounting or other business related (Finance) major with emphasis in accounting, GAAP and SEC reporting experience.
2 years experience in public accounting including experience in GAAP and SEC reporting
