Senior Tax Accountant summary:

Our client, a well-known regional CPA firm in the DC area, is currently seeking to hire a Senior Tax Accountant on a contract basis. This individual will assist in all aspects of the year-end tax reporting function, including data collection, and supervision of tax staff/interns.

Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for:
Preparing federal and state income taxes for individuals, businesses, benefit fund, real estate, and exempt organizations.
Researching tax issues for clients and be familiar with resource materials.
Understanding basic accounting issues and procedures.
Training, reviewing, and evaluating entry level tax accountant’s work.
Managing multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
Communicating clients regarding status of engagements.
Providing assistance to Partner/Tax Manager in meeting internal and external deadlines and upper management requests.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Skills and Characteristics:
Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate technical tax issues with non-tax people.
Detail oriented.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with minimal
supervision.Requirements:
3-5 years experience preparing individual, business, benefit fund, real estate and exempt organization tax returns.
Strong accounting and analytical skills.
Strong computer skills: proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point.We offer:
