Senior Risk Management Analyst
An advanced professional position involving administration and assistance in development and improvement, of the corporation's global insurance and risk management programs as well as ongoing risk consultation and claim management. The incumbent has professional responsibility requiring applied competence in property insurance, liability insurance, workers compensation, insurance rating, legal principles, claims management, financial principles, contract interpretation and negotiation, emergency response, consultative risk advising and risk assessment.
Underwriting: Development and maintenance of underwriting data, including designing and executing field surveys, preparation and updating of databases, development of appropriate summaries, problem solving, process documentation, and professional interaction with state regulators, premium auditors, underwriters and brokers. Representation of Kelly's interests in negotiation and problem resolution involving such parties.
Claims: Management of newly reported claims, analysis of claim reports and lawsuits for insurance coverage, interpretation of insurance policy language as it applies to claims, use of risk management information systems to prepare summary data, representation of corporate interests with respect to coverage issues, oversight of third party administrators and insurance brokers, maintenance of appropriate files and records, development of defense strategies, incident report investigation and follow-up, monitoring and oversight of third party claim administrators, advising the senior director concerning risk issues.
Insurance Rating: assembly and submission of data to support experience rating worksheets, verification of rating data as expressed in insurance policies and rating worksheets issued by insurers and external rating organizations
Regulatory Compliance: preparation and maintenance of data for purposes of audits by insurers and governmental authorities; research and interpretation and application of workers compensation legal requirements for purposes of multi-state KSL workers compensation regulatory compliance
Contracts: time-efficient review of insurance and order restriction issues for at least 500 customer contracts per year, including application of Kelly standards and principles, consultative assistance to attorneys and operations management, drafting of alternative language, telephone negotiations with external customers, appropriate record-keeping, preparation of summary memorandums; review of premises leases and development of risk reduction initiatives
Consultative advice: serving as a trusted advisor to operations and corporate staff, developing and conducting educational sessions on risk issues, assessing multiple dimensions of risk with respect to new job and business opportunities
Loss control: participation in the corporate emergency response team, devising practical business alternatives to reduce risks associated with specific jobs and customer service opportunities, communication of lessons learned from specific claims, application of Kelly order restrictions; participation in development and enhancement of corporate risk standards
Special projects as assigned, involving insurance, contracts, risk management, department processes and financial documentation, training and education
Qualifications:
College degree in Finance, business law, risk management or equivalent.
10+ years of applied risk management and/or property-casualty insurance experience.
Contract analysis and interpretation, insurance policy construction, claim analysis and management, property-casualty insurance rating, working knowledge of statutory and common law principles as respects torts, contracts and criminal law, usage of personal computers and prevailing business software, interpersonal negotiations, written and oral communications, basic accounting skills, knowledge of the regulatory aspects of temporary staffing and employee leasing, ability to operate for extended periods with minimal supervision, project management skills, ability to work under multiple deadlines with multiple competing priorities, experience in quality management programs, mentoring skills.
