Senior Network Operations Manager

We are looking for a senior Networks Operations Manager who has worked in a company that has cleared financial transactions. We need someone that has experience running a disciplined 7 x 24 production operation and has extensive experience supporting the application layer in a transaction environment.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures the stability, maintainability as well as the scalability of the US MTP in a 7 x 24 production environment.
Works closely with Support Managers and EMEA Production Manager to deliver a quality service to clients in a reliable and efficient manner.
Deploys new products and services consistent with company goals.
Defines and documents infrastructure operating processes, procedures and gives appropriate training.
Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to team.
Creates and tracks key performance indicators with the goal of continuous improvement.
Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Assists in the creation of the operational budget, tracks performance to actuals and takes corrective action if appropriate.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as required.
7 x 24 availability.
Ability to travel globally.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
BSc in a related field.
Minimum 2 years experience managing technical teams.
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience directly related to the technical tasks as outlined in the job description.
Project management experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Experience deploying and supporting proprietary software at a rapid rate of change.
Understanding of change management methodologies and their importance to revenue assurance.
Ability to prepare detailed department reports and metrics for senior management.
Knowledge of the telecommunications industry, specifically the SMS messaging side of networks.
Ability to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously.
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Well developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a highly international team.
Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures.
Understanding of TCP/IP, networking, client/ server applications,
Knowledge of protocols SMTP, HTTP, SSH, SNMP
Understanding of Unix, XML, Perl and Shell Scripting
