Senior .Net Developer
Candidates will be members of the research technology team. The research technology project is a 12-24 month initiative focusing on providing cutting edge research and portfolio management tools for a leading investment management firm.
Key Job Responsibilities:
• Develop custom research/investment management applications.
• The project will be developed using VB.NET, ASP.NET and MS Reporting Services (similar to Crystal Reports) interacting with MS SQL 2005.
• Develop strong understanding of vendor applications.
• Configure and customize vendor applications as necessary to meet project goals.
• Integrate vendor applications with internal environment.
• Participate in full system development lifecycle including high level design, detailed design, test planning, construction, deployment planning, testing, deployment and post deployment support.
• Provide one on one support as end users transition to the new research platform.
REQUIREMENTS


Required Qualifications
• 5 + years development experience
• Strong MS SQL background.
• Strong MS Reporting Services (with SQL Server 2005 preferred) skills including projects involving significant customization.
• Strong testing experience
• Strong knowledge of object oriented concepts.
• Solid .NET experience.
• Experience can be in C#, ASP.NET or VB. NET
• Some exposure to VB.NET is required.
• Ability to work on technical projects with little or no supervision, paying close attention to details
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• High level of commitment and enthusiasm
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work directly with end users who are portfolio managers and research analysts.
• Financial services experience preferred, but not required
• FactSet experience is highly desirable but not required. (FactSet is a key vendor application in this project)
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
