We're looking for a Senior Systems Analyst with excellent communication and problem solving skills to join our Hartford, CT team. This position is accountable for providing technical systems analysis services on applications development projects encompassing the Financial Underwriting domain. Responsibilities:
Research/investigate to identify root cause.
Act as go-between for business analysts and technical staff.
Produce detailed specifications for systems architects.
Write system specifications.
Support QA.
Evaluate Business Requirements and prepare detailed Technical Specifications required for Technical design.
Design Partnering with business customer to ensure adequacy of business requirements
Develop and maintain analysis models.
Define supplementary technical requirements needed to support the business requirements.
Secure sign off from Business Sponsor on final Documentation of system requirements.
Coordinate and conduct system analysis specification walkthroughs with Business Owners and Design/Development Team.
Maintain and assure adherence to development standards for the systems analysis process and related artifacts.

Participate in and support technical application design process to ensure accurate translation of analysis specifications into technical design specification


Formulate and define system scope and objectives.


Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.


Evaluate business requirements and prepare detailed specifications that follow project guidelines to develop written programs.


Design codes, test, debug and document those programs.


Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation.


Generate innovative ideas to resolve problems.


Responsible for the completion phase of the project to ensure success.


Assist in training junior level personnel in technical complexities of assigned work.


Job Requirements:

Qualifications:



Prior object/data modeling experience and demonstrated success writing technical specifications as part of software development projects.
Proven experience conducting complex system analysis and experience with system diagrams.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to identify an audience and write specifically for them is a must.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
BS degree is highly preferred.

Exposure/experience with modeling software, business services development, message based architecture, and web portals desired.


BS degree in computer or business related field or equivalent experience.


2+ years experience in applications systems analysis and/or programming.


Exhibit and apply comprehensive knowledge of systems analysis to the completion of challenging assignments.


Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.


Exhibit and is able to demonstrate the relationship of data structures as they relate to systems.


Thorough understanding of technological infrastructure and how it relates to projects.


Has a firm understanding of the problems and issues of clients, the industry and the business environment.


Effective communication skills with all levels of internal and external customers and staff.


Ability to work through the analysis phase of the application development life cycle.


Strong facilitation skills to gain customer requirements.


Strong problem solving, interviewing and fact finding skills.


Frequent consultation with company senior leaders and/or outside vendors on complex issues having impact across segment/Company.
