Senior Cost Analyst to join MKS Instruments!!

The Sr. Cost Analyst for the ASTeX-Wilmington product group is responsible for cost accounting activities including manufacturing and service inventory valuation, cost of sales accuracy and variance analysis, standard cost setting and item maintenance along with current cost analysis. Well-versed in costing and inventory valuation methods and systems. Participate and lead month-end cost close activities and variance analysis. Support sales accounting and costing of shipments. Liaison with external auditors for audits on inventory, reserve and valuation issues. Support an ongoing inventory cycle count program and conduct and reconcile physical inventories as required. Interface with group management on new product cost development and inventory controls. Support the Business Unit reporting requirements. Provide guidance on cost accounting issues as required.
JOB DETAILS:
?Establish and assure compliance with MKS policies, and procedures. Assure that the system of internal inventory control is adequate to support the objectives of financial reporting.
?Manage and improve the overall cost closing process (monthly, quarterly, annually). Perform Sales / CGS / inventory valuation; schedule month-end job streams; reconcile accounts and prepare OFD schedules for Corporate. Ensure appropriate account numbers are charged for projects and work orders as required. Prepare intercompany profit work papers for accurate consolidation results.
?Fully support the Sarbanes-Oxley 404 Internal Controls process; audit support, control monitoring, control execution of PO’s, cycle counts, periodic physical inventories, month-end reconciliation of accounts, revenue classifications, and other controls as required. Work closely with material control to develop and monitor procedures utilized for inventory control.
?Perform New Part costing and item set ups as required (weekly). Perform periodic standard cost re-setting process as required (semi-annually) for purchased parts, labor and overhead costs, and BOM revisions in accordance with standard corporate policies and procedures. Maintain and explain overhead costing techniques in congruence with policy and FAS 141.
?Execute Inventory analyses and reserve policy for the group: excess and obsolete, lower-of cost or market, MRB and shrink reserves analyses, used equipment, demo and service inventories.
•Work with ERP programmers/analysts to develop and maintain accurate inventory and cost of goods sold analysis tools as required.
?Participate in Management Business Review process. Prepare various overviews for Inventory metrics, headcount requirements and CAPEX spending. Support the business planning and forecasting process, review forecast vs. actual results with department managers and explain variances. Provide guidance and assistance with the preparation of forecasts that supports strategic planning.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
?Accounting/Finance BS/BA degree with 7-10 years of related experience in: product costing methods and MRP/ERP cost systems, internal planning, reporting and control, financial statement consolidation including international subs and transfer pricing techniques.
?Excel spreadsheet capabilities along with database methods and extensive ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle & Oracle Discover report writing) experiences are required.
?Self-starting, self-directed, team oriented professional, with ability to independently determine the direction of work required and priority of projects.
?Experienced financial analysis and communication skills and the skill to successfully interact with ASTeX line managers and their staffs.
?Limited travel, although ability for International travel would be positive.
