Senior Corporate Accountant - Fortune 100 Manufacturing Company

A $1.5B division of a Fortune 100 company seeks a Senior Accountant that will be part of the Controllership function at this companies Division headquarters office located in Houston, Texas. This individual will report to the Director of Accounting of the North American operations. Also, this growing division of a Fortune 100 company is hoping to add bench strength to the accounting function. There will be plenty of opportunity to grow with the organization for the right person.

Currently this division is going through various back office consolidation projects. They are centralizing a variety of accounting functions across the division to include; A/P, A/R, collections, internal reporting, etc. The Senior Accountant will play an active role in the consolidation effort. Ideally, this individual is a bright and energetic Accountant that is personable and desires to grow with a top-notch organization. This job is not for the passive 9 to 5 individual but for a dynamic accounting professional that wants to be instrumental in helping this organization succeed.
REQUIREMENTS


Primary responsibilities:

Participate in the monthly closing process, including the account reconciliations of both the manufacturing and warehouse & distribution locations, throughout the United States.
Partner with the business unit finance teams to help drive consistency of reporting throughout the entire organization.
Provide accounting and internal control guidance and ensuring that it is consistent with corporate guidance and is in compliance with US GAAP.
Assist with the maintaining and monitoring of the internal controls systems to ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal and external audit activities, and SOX 404 requirements.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial data in a concise and pertinent format to be used by Senior Management to make key business decisions.
Participate with the business unit finance teams to help drive centralization of finance functions, and to help institutionalize consistent monthly financial forecasting and analysis.
Participate in key business initiatives, as determined by the business.

Experience Requirements

B.S. in Accounting / Finance – CPA preferred.
At least 3 to 5 years of finance experience, with some experience in public accounting.
Background in a controllership function, preferably with a large manufacturing company.
Operational finance experience a plus … working across multiple entities and/or functional areas.
Requires strong finance and accounting knowledge.
Superior PC skills including Microsoft products and ERP software packages.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
