Senior Actuarial Analyst

Under general direction, assists in the actuarial analysis of the company's pricing posture and the development of rate level recommendations and loss reserves to department management. May supervise one to two analysts. Math and analytical skills; normally acquired through a BS in math, statistics or related field plus 3 - 4 years of experience. Substantial knowledge of insurance principles and rate-making concepts required. Knowledge of the functions of various departments such as financial, underwriting, Legal, Stats, Claims, Sales, and policy writing are required. Oral and written communication skills needed to communicate effectively with other departments and to negotiate with regulators. PC and programming skills needed in facilitating report productions. Completion of a minimum of five CAS exams are required.
REQUIREMENTS
We have a great opportunity available in Commercial Actuarial Research and Development, working in our Workers' Compensation R&D unit. General responsibilities in this position include predictive modeling of WC, developing and updating pricing tools, support for annual planning, and fundamental research into the drivers of profitability. We are looking for a student with 4-7 exams and at least three years of commercial lines experience. Solid candidates for this position should have solid technical abilities, but experience i predictive modeling is not a requirement.
