SENIOR FINANCE MANAGER

Our Chicago office has an immediate opening for a Senior Finance Manager within our Client Financial Management and Accounting Services Unit. Will manage team which provides and prepares financial statements for clients or internal SmithBucklin reporting. Will foster the client relationship and act as senior financial lead for assigned clients. Will work with internal management to provide analysis, research, and Q&A regarding financial statements and accounting procedures.
Demonstrated Experience:Budget and Forecast Preparation - Assisting in the annual budget process. Developing assumptions used as a basis for budget development. Summarizing budget in relation to the client’s Strategic Plan and preparing periodic forecasts.Financial Policies - Developing appropriate internal controls and monitor compliance for cash receipts, A/P, A/R, investments, competitive bids, and purchase orders.Computer System Management - Ensuring that accounting software and financial statement report writer are utilized properly to produce timely and accurate financial information.Investments - Aiding in the development and periodic review of an investment policy. Analyzing performance in relation to investment benchmarks.Business Direction and Planning - Working with the Executive Director to estimate the financial impact for all Board and Council initiatives when applicable.Finance Committee - Providing financial management support for the committee.Annual Meeting Financial Management - Guaranteeing the accurate reporting of annual meeting attendees and income with pre-site and on-site financial reporting.Management of the Annual Audit - Supervising and reviewing the annual audit.Planning and managing overall accounting activities for client organizations. Reviewing daily accounting activity for each client account (when applicable).Reviewing and analyzing monthly financial statements. Providing recommendations on improving financial operations to key client personnel.Manage client relationship with key vendors (e.g. tax providers, banks, investment advisors).Conduct annual review and sale of accounting fees to client.Assist Director/Senior Director in overall management of service unit.Create a positive team spirit and provide leadership by encouraging cooperation and communication between team members. REQUIREMENTSBachelors degree in related field (Accounting, Finance), CPA preferredMinimum 8 yrs experience in accounting work, preferably with client serviceMinimum 3 yrs supervisory and leadership experience managing client relationships and internal staffBackground and several years public accounting firm or related experienceProven analytical abilityHigh level of expertise with Microsoft Office and high level of proficiency in ExcelExcellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation skillsPlatinum/FRX software skills or comparable highly desirableStrong project management skills (time and organization) SmithBucklin is proud to offer the following benefits that include but are not limited to: Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k), Tuition Reimbursement and Educational Assistance.
