Our Tax Services practice is positioned to dominate the market.The State and Local Tax (SALT) practice is committed to assisting our clients in interpreting and complying with the complex requirements of state and local tax authorities. We work with clients on a full range of state and local tax matters including corporate income, franchise, sales, use, credits, incentives, employment, and abandoned and unclaimed property. We assist clients in tax compliance, tax accounting, refund reviews, strategic planning, mergers & acquisitions, audit defense, and tax controversy.The New York State and Local Tax practice is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join their growing Financial Services Tax group. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to prepare and review state income/franchise tax returns for clients in the Capital Markets, Real Estate and Insurance industries. The candidate will also have an opportunity to research, write, and advise clients on a variety of state and local tax issues ranging from tax planning, restructuring, due diligence, audit defense, and audit management for Financial Services companies. This individual will also be leveraging work to associate personnel and responsible for developing and supervising associates.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
B.S. in Accounting
Masters in TaxEssential Requirements:
3-5 years of Tax Compliance experience, particularly with partnership tax returns, GoSystems (or other tax compliance software) and Excel.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) required.
A commitment to exceptional client service and a flexible, self-starter possessing intellectual curiosity.
Also the ability to interact with various levels of client and Firm management.
