Risk Manager
Vanguard, one of the world's leading investment management companies, seeks an experienced, highly knowledgeable risk-management professional to develop, manage and execute risk management projects, assessments and programs for the Integrated Retirement Plan Solutions (IRPS) Business.
You'll identify and evaluate risks and exposures associated with all aspects of IRPS' business, operations and policies, and, in cooperation with business partners, implement risk-mitigation strategies that ensure internal controls without compromising client service or regulatory obligations.
You'll continually seek opportunities to improve risk-management methodologies and practices, and work to implement solutions. As part of that responsibility, you'll monitor the status of risk-mitigation strategies and internal audits, and consult with IRPS business to ensure proper follow-through.
You'll develop, implement, and manage specific risk-management programs and initiatives, including educating the IRPS Business on potential risk. You'll be expected to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management to successfully monitor and report business risks, including presenting to internal Risk Councils.
You'll participate in the preparation and execution of IRPS-related SAS70 reports, and work closely with internal and external auditors. You'll be expected to maintain and enhance your technical knowledge specific to risk management, the IRPS Business, and the retirement industry. You'll participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five years of internal control, auditing and/or project management experience, including at least two years of management experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of internal control theory and practices.
- Industry experience related to recordkeeping, mutual funds, operations and/or investment management services preferred.
- Experience with regulatory compliance, systems project management and consulting preferred.
- Solid business acumen, flexibility, and judgment to evaluate complex issues.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong consulting, negotiating, influencing, problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Strong project- and people-management skills.
- Solid analytical skills and understanding of processes, technology and operational concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
