Project Manager - Healthcare

They manage health plans that range from state Medicaid and Medicare programs to employer self-funded health plans as well as behavioral and commercial health plans. Types of services that are provided include medical management, administration, claims processing, member services, provider services, financial reporting and analysis, compliance management, information technology implementation, and actuarial services.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Manager reports to the Executive Director and shall be the primary resource to ensure all aspects of the project including, at a minimum, detailed work plans, task management, and resource management are accomplished. The Project Manager is dedicated full-time to the Medicaid Program and works with the Account Manager for the successful implementation and ongoing operations of the program.

The purpose of the position is to provide support to the Operations area and other leadership executives in the performance of their duties, including contract management and analysis and project management of business and systems initiatives.

OBJECTIVES

The position will include the following activities: Project definition and justification, project planning and reporting, project management and implementation, business process and system improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Manage and coordinate the implementation of designated projects including: project definition and planning, business process and systems implementation, performance measurement systems, benchmarking, contract review, project facilitation and training
•Manage and coordinate the development of responses to requests for proposals issued by corporations or governmental agencies
•Prepare presentations on various topics to top management
•Prepare meeting reports from project team meetings
•Coordinate projects with health plans
•Manage multiple, parallel projects using formal project planning techniques

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS

•Minimum of three years experience in project management in health care, preferably with health plans; former Medicaid experience helpful.
•Demonstrated ability to work with multiple cross-functional project teams and to meet project schedules, costs and performance objectives.
•Demonstrated ability to project manage multiple, parallel projects
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Project or similar project management programs and intranets, extranets and internet technologies

EDUCATION

•BS or BA required
•Masters in Business Administration, Public Administration/Policy or Public Health preferred.
