Program Manager SAP
In this role you will plan, manage and oversee Hospira’s Manufacturing Project. You will be responsible for managing the IT components of the project including the project scope, budget, schedule and resources and coordinate project management responsibilities with Business leadership, Integration leads and Systems Integrator leaders.
Hospira is rapidly expanding its SAP based system foundation broadly supporting global operations for Finance, Treasury, Purchasing, Tax, Human Resources, Materials Management, Distribution, International Commercial Operations and Order Management. Near term expansion pertaining to this position is planned for Manufacturing Operations and Quality systems.
Additionally, you will be responsible for providing overall program management, motivation, vision and leadership to IT and Business personnel in a matrix organization as they work to implement SAP Manufacturing at Hospira.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Managing program scope, controlling costs, and working to deliver expected functional scope and financial benefits
Working with IT and Business leadership to escalate, manage and resolve business issues
Facilitating communications with the Program Steering Committee, Business and IT organizations
Managing the project within the goals and boundaries of the overall SAP program scope, control one-time cost with an eye towards reducing ongoing operational IT costs
Effectively partner with Integration Management staff and Business leadership within a Program Management Organization with responsibility to oversee the successful delivery of the project ensuring timely delivery of a quality driven solution, which meets the overall business problem
Working to ensure compliance to IT policies, standards, practices, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard information resources
Establishing resource plans to assure adequate staffing for successful delivery of project goals
Establishing plans to ensure timely and effective transition of process knowledge and support activities to Application Management areas
Managing IT functional teams and overall IT organization within the project
Leading in promoting organizational change and adoption of common business processes
Ensuring consistency of project processes and procedures within project team members
Maintaining channels of communication with IT and Business leadership to ensure project performance and issues are understood and addressed
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensuring that application systems associated with financial controls meet the compliance requirements as set forth in the corporation’s Sarbanes-Oxley program
Ensuring that the application systems associated with FDA, DEA and other Regional or Country specific controls meet the compliance requirements as set forth by these regulatory and governmental bodies
REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in this position, you must possess:
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent experience is required, an MBA is preferred
10 to 15 years of experience with increasing management experience in one or more major IT functions
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Broad knowledge of the business functions and organizations supported by the MFG Project is essential
Broad Technical experience and understanding of the SAP application
Understanding of how the SAP application areas intersect and how the Hospira SAP instance interplays with other Hospria application systems
Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley as it relates to general accounting and operational controls
The ability to persuade and sell in a liaison role with Senior Management
Considerable interpersonal skills to manage the personnel situations arising with project staff and management who are working under tight deadlines and considerable pressure
Previous management experience of multiple large scale software or product development projects, working with internal and external partners
