Parson Consulting has 12 offices in the U.S. and one in London, Paris, and Sydney.Parson Consulting has a unique opportunity for a Practice Director to lead our Strategic Finance Consulting Practice in Boston.Position: The Practice Director is responsible for overall client delivery and the growth, profitability, staffing and management of the Practice in the local office and region. The Practice Director will provide technical expertise (SME) in their specialty to support clients and the practice. Practice Directors also partner with Business Development to jointly sell to clients.Qualifications: Big 4 or consulting industry experience with a recognized professional services organization required
Significant FINANCE STRATEGY expertise in; Business Performance Management, Budgeting and Forecasting, Balance Scorecard and Key Risk Indicators, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Insight and Management Reporting, Accelerated Software Selection, BI Tools experience, and Financial Transformation
Insurance and/or Financial Services industry experience is required
Deep functional knowledge in Finance and Accounting and secondary experience in systems and process is desired
Client focused and personable with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated business development aptitude and desire coupled with strong ability to build the Parson brand; Possess a network of relationships (book of business) and ability to drive revenue
Ability to analyze financial opportunities and mitigate riskDemonstrated history of large project management experience, including project planning and strategy developmentProven leadership ability, with a teaching/mentoring stylePC literate, including experience in using software for producing presentations, spreadsheets and project planning (skilled in PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Visio)
College degree required; MBA and/or professional certification desirable Ability and willingness to travel is requiredSample Responsibilities Include:Business Development
Determine pricing strategy, workplan and roles required to execute plans
Develop, create and present proposals to clients
Review client deliverables and ensure client satisfaction
Support Business Development team in business development, scope definition, objective setting, solution development and closing of business
Review and approve client invoices and scope changesService Delivery
Determine strategy for addressing client needs including value propositions and cost benefit analysis
Develop and/or oversee development of project plans
Provide technical oversight of projects including quality assurance, resource planning, business development and project management
Make final selection of project teamsPractice DevelopmentDevelop overall strategy, budget and action plans for Practice
Complete needs assessment, requisition, interview and selection of consultants to run engagementsManagement and Practice Operations
Celebrate successes of team/individuals
Manage, coach, guide and mentor Engagement Managers in development and management of Practice
