Practice Director - Finance and Accounting

Parson Consulting currently has eleven offices in the U.SPosition Overview:The Practice Director is responsible for the overall growth, profitability, staffing and management of the Practice in the local office as well at the region. The Practice Director will provide technical theory and expertise in the practice specialty in order to support clients and the internal practice. This position will also partner with the Managing Director in managing the overall growth and profitability of the office.Qualifications:Demonstrated business development aptitude and desire with strong presentationskills

Consulting experience with a recognized professional services organization
Financial/Accounting experience outside of a professional services organization
Deep functional knowledge in Finance and Accounting and secondary experience in systems and process is desired.
Personable with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Have network of relationships (book of business) and be able to drive revenue
Demonstrated ability to build business; P&L responsibility
Ability to analyze financial opportunities and mitigate risk
Demonstrated history of large project management experience, including project planning and strategy development
Personable with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Proven leadership ability, with a teaching/mentoring style
PC literate, including experience in using software for producing presentations, spreadsheets and project planning (skilled in MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Project and Visio)
College degree required; MBA and/or professional certification desirable
Willingness to travelResponsibilities:Practice Development
Complete needs assessment, requisition, interview and select consultants as well as run the project
Develop overall strategy, budget, and tactical action plan for Practice
Assist Managing Director with overall growth strategies for the office, including the financial management planning and analysisBusiness Development
Determine pricing strategy and method, work plan, roles required to execute plan
Able to leverage business contacts and drive revenue
Develop, create and present proposal to client making any revisions until the go/no go decision is made
Identify and contact subject matter expert or Engagement Manager to participate in proposal and run fulfillment
Review and approve client invoices and changes in scope
Conduct project wrap-up meeting to formally review deliverables and ensure client satisfaction with results
Support Business Development Managers in business development, defining scope, setting objectives, developing solutions and closing
Service Delivery
Conduct project prep meeting with team
Determine high level approach to addressing client need including value proposition and cost benefit analysis
Develop and/or oversee the development of project plans for all engagements
Develop work plan
Make final selection of project team and staff on Porthera
Conduct ??project? orientation with team to update consultants on need/approach, etc
Conduct internal and client kick-off meetings to review expectations, roles, communication, project plan etc
Conduct milestone and deliverable review meetings per projectTechnical oversight of projects, including quality assurance, resource planning, business development, project management. As market dictates, develop organizational strategies to support client and other constituency needsManagement and Practice Operations
Complete communication plan for project (internal and external) detailing clear roles/responsibilities, issue management and escalation process
Approve and conduct ??end of project? reviews for all team members
Conduct consultant role model orientation
Manage consultant performance including performance improvement plan and termination if necessary
Manage, coach, guide and mentor Engagement Managers in development of Practice
Direct Engagement Managers in all aspects of resource planning, management, project fulfillment, and assigning project lead for every engagement
Hire, manage, develop, train, and direct consultants and Engagement Managers
Approve all consultant salary increases for the Practice
Celebrate successes of team/individuals.Other
Perform other duties as assigned as is required for the operation of the business
May be required to travel to client sites as needed
