This position can be located either in Atlanta or Kansas City. As a successful Portfolio Strategist, you will coordinate the establish the long term strategic plans for Worldspan IT Subscription Services, which currently encompass Shopping, Fares and Pricing and Hosting services. Under limited supervision, conducts in-depth research and analysis in order to develop long term strategic plans. Produces long-term strategic product plans, new idea concepts, product road maps, competitive positioning, user trends and validation of customer perception. Researches new ideas and concepts, authoring white papers as needed. Establishes with other Portfolio Strategists in Product Strategy unified direction on product direction. Assists Product Strategist with value proposition and positioning for new releases. Analyzes the impact of competitive position and customer perceptions. Assists with determining buy versus build and partnership decisions, including contract negotiations on buy and partnerships. Works in conjunction with other Worldspan departments, customers, third party suppliers and associates as requested.Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of product functionality and strategy in subscription services. Thorough knowledge of travel technology services with emphasis on air travel products, pricing and hosting needs. A level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Information Systems Management. Five or more years of progressively more responsible product analysis and product development experience, including decision making authority on strategic product direction. Strong understanding of product strategy and development processes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and management skills. Previous experience as a facilitator. Ability to communicate to all levels of technical and non-technical employees. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize work and work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Flexibility to changing priorities and needs. Ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive environment. Strong analytical, problem solving skills.
