Performance Improvement Specialist - RN
Borgess Medical Center, in Kalamazoo, MI. has an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse in it's Performance Improvement Department. This position maintains accountability to the Director of Performance Improvement to fulfill responsibilities of the quality management process and provides support for Performance Improvement, Utilization Review, and Infection Control. Performs various data gathering, calculation and analysis functions related to the development of ongoing performance improvement and safety activities. Responsible for maintaining and updating the department statistical mapping tables for mortality reduction and priority for action initiatives. Provides clinical guidance on Performance Improvement Issues as required to Nursing Personnel on patient care units.

REQUIREMENTS
RN licensure with five years clinical experience required. Cardiac experience preferred.
Knowledge of data processing, personal computers, basic accounting and business principles preferred.
Preferred two years experience in Performance Improvement functions to include, but not limited to, the following: quality assessment and improvement, infection control, utilization management, clinical pathways, outcomes. Preference will be to candidate with combination of experience.
Analytical skills necessary to collect, tabulate, and organize data according to established criteria.
Basic computer skills required. Excel, Word, Atlas, CareScience, Power Point, and ProTouch skills preferred.
