Marketing Underwriter, Sr
Market company products and services to independent agents and brokers; manage the marketing, productivity and profitability of a substantial book of business and/or program book; perform effective agency and customer contacts and personal visits; and make risk selection, underwriting and pricing decisions, within designated underwriting authority, all in order to achieve objectives for production and profitability on assigned accounts, including objectives related to written premium, loss ratio, retention, pricing, service, and quality of file reviews.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Monitor the aggregate profitability of a book of business assignment. Participate in developing action plans to achieve individual agency objectives with Amerisure. Facilitate communication between agencies and company to promote achievement of quality and service objectives.
Solicit, select, and price individual risks; apply corporate underwriting strategies and objectives; document underwriting decisions appropriately; seek higher level authority/approval when needed and/or required.
Act as a mentor and trainer for others; may be assigned â??line of business leaderâ?ť responsibilities or other similar duties. Informally lead the team in the absence of the Territorial manager or as needed, in significant decision making. Serve as a model in technical and marketing expertise and professional behaviors.
Lead the agency evaluation process including assigning appropriate grading, developing specific business plans with appropriate tactical elements, and monitoring progress toward objectives. Remain aware of legal, legislative and competitive environment and trends within the assigned territory, and recommend action as appropriate. Use and share competitive intelligence in order to generate profitable new relationships and enhance existing ones.
Interact with current and prospective agents and customers, through frequent, well-planned interactions constructed to maximize the development of profitable books of business in each assigned territory. Act as liaison between agency and company to resolve problems, capitalize on opportunities, and report on activities.
Contribute to the ability of team members to meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations related to service and quality according to established standards, goals and objectives. As needed, support processing activities by routing work to be rated and produced, giving related instructions and information to staff.
Other activities as assigned by management.
