The Card Products group within Business Direct issues credit cards to small business owners nationwide through our store and direct channels. We have an opening for a Marketing Database Analyst who will support our Internal Channels Marketing team in the following areas:
Track and conduct analyses of accounts originated via our store channel, measuring acquisition results by region, employee demographic and other metrics.

Develop and test hypotheses as to what factors influence the retail sales process and work with Internal Channels team and other peers to feed learnings and results back into the process to improve results

Produce new and upgrade existing analytical reporting to support the business.The three most important skills for success in this role are the ability to extract and manipulate data, think critically in a business sense, and curiosity. This position uses SQL to retrieve data and uses ODBC technology to bring the resulting data into MS Office products like Excel and Access for presentation and reporting. The ability to “think in SQL” is very valuable. Critical thinking skills are important for interpreting results, working independently, and being able to make educated guesses about topics where the data may be sparse or unavailable.Because your reporting and analytical efforts will affect our understanding and approach to managing our retail channels, we’ll see you as a key player who understands our business rather than just an analyst running MIS (not that we don’t love pretty and informationally dense reporting in its own right). Candidates don’t need a background in marketing, financial services or credit cards, although these would be a plus. Enough experience is required such that you’re comfortable working with and understanding the business needs of a variety of co-workers and are able to exchange and discuss ideas in a candid way.The work location is Concord, CA. Partial telecommuting is possibleThe Salary Range for this position is $73,500 to $133,500 depending on qualifications and experience.
Minimum Qualifications


* Minimum Qualifications:BS in Business, Finance, Economics, CS, Stats, Math or other hard sciences
SQL programming skills, Proficiency with MS Access/Excel
* Preferred Skills:Masters or higher in same fields
Statistical modeling background
Financial services or Credit card industry background
Strong Business/Financial acumen
