The Portfolio Risk Manager will work with Director of Credit Risk to develop and institute portfolio management techniques to minimize operating losses. Perform trend analysis. Analyze exposure by industry classification and compare to regional/national and card association averages. Develops early warning system. Validates tools using industry standard reporting. Monitor a portfolio of 130,000+ merchant accounts. Review and investigate all accounts posing potential losses to the company assessing credit risk. Make real time/on-line decisions through company risk systems justifying all recommendations. Mitigate risk by negotiating collateral requirements and restructuring contract terms as required. Resolve merchant issues and put to closure all escalated merchant calls initiated from assigned portfolio of accounts. Implement reengineered risk management policies and procedures to improve losses or reduce expenses in the merchant portfolio. Interface regularly with business channel and prepare monthly reporting package to communicate risk management results accurately and timely. Perform extensive, detailed credit analysis of portfolio accounts with MPL above $100,000 within aggressive timeframes. Responsible for performance of portfolio. Must be able to actively monitor portfolio for problem situations and make recommendations for action to senior management. Must also communicate with account executives, sales managers, territory managers and Risk Management Leadership in relaying and discussing credit requirements. Directing analytics to develop, measure and adjust acquisition criteria for all channels and initial line assignment. Conduct analysis to understand population score shifts as it relates to existing customer credit strategies and acquisition channels. Measure and quantify test results and help formulate strategic recommendations for moving from test to roll out strategy. Understand program P&Ls and how policies and targeting impact overall profitability with the goal of making the appropriate risk/reward trade-off.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
REQUIREMENTS
BS/BA in a quantitative discipline (i.e. statistics, economics, finance).
MS/MBA or CFA preferred.
Formal Credit Training Preferred.
At least ten years of credit risk/credit portfolio risk experience in Financial Services or Management Consulting with significant exposure to Cards Businesses.
Experience with sophisticated methods of credit portfolio/credit risk management, the credit risk life cycle at a major financial institution, risk/credit ratings frameworks, regulatory drivers of credit risk management, credit and risk reporting, a strong track record of building and leading risk management/credit risk project teams and a strong desire to apply one's professional experience with a Leading Risk Management Organization.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills and a proven ability to communicate results in a clear, concise manner.
Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects and possess strong interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills.
