Manager, Retailer Relations
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Director, Retailer Relations in process of analyzing and validating Shortage, Handling, Pricing, Freight and other retailer deductions. Specifically, managing the activities of 1 exempt and 4 non-exempt employees and reviewing/validating/disputing the more than $10 million in retailer deductions.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•Responsible for analyzing Shortage, Handling, Pricing, Freight and other deductions as to their causes and work with appropriate corporate functional areas in implementing corrective measures
•Coordinate between retailers and all areas of Estee Lauder Companies including brand representatives, Distribution Centers and North American Transportation to reconcile differences, and work with the Director of R.R. to negotiate and settle deduction issues
•Oversee the collection effort on retailer deductions that have been disallowed or determined to be incorrect
•Interface with various brands, brand’s field personnel, departments, and retailers to resolve open deduction issues. Ensure timely follow-up for any open deductions, obtain proper documentation and proper expensing. Take appropriate action on deduction discrepancies.
•Monitor and validate retailer Demonstration Deductions; review commission rate structure and insure that they are up to date; Analyze and resolve large differences with brand personnel
•Provide leadership, guidance and training to a supervisor and a staff of coordinators
•Work with field personnel to ensure that all company procedures, policies and guidelines are followed
•Oversee regular RR Department reporting and perform in-depth analysis; monitor and report on the status of deductions and corrective measures taken across all brands; Perform special projects as necessary
•Assist in SOX compliance, internal/external audits and the implementation of SMI/SAP
REQUIREMENTS
Manager RR Grade 26:
•4 yr degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent/relevant experience
•Minimum 5-7 years experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Accounting or Finance
•Minimum 4 years Supervisory Experience
•Demonstrates a complete and thorough understanding of all elements of Shortages, Handling, Pricing, Freight, Demonstration - deductions and collections
•Ability to oversee department operations in absence of Director Retailer Relations
•Consistently meets established departmental performance objectives
•Ability to initiate settlement package review and discussions with retailers
•Working knowledge of Excel and Word; Impromptu, Access, SAP a plus.
•Excellent organizational and communication skills
Manager RR Grade 27:
•Over 7+ years experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Accounting or Finance
•Over 5+ years Supervisory Experience
•Demonstrated ability, in dealing effectively with retailers, brands and management
•Effective in negotiating settlements with retailers on outstanding deductions
•Proficient in Grade 26 qualifications
