LCIT Portfolio Delivery Manager

UBS Investment Bank is seeking a Legal and Compliance IT Portfolio Delivery Manager. Legal and Compliance IT supports all of the global IT initiatives for the Legal & Compliance department. These initiatives fall into two overall programmes of work, Regulatory Compliance and Productivity Tools. The Regulatory Compliance Programme focuses on critical jurisdictions & systems with the highest propensity for regulatory scrutiny and globally supports both compliance monitoring and detection. Productivity Tools are departmentally focused initiatives dedicated to minimizing the firm's risk exposure, providing robust tools to support the growing Legal & Compliance department, reducing cost, and facilitating productivity improvements. The RoleThis role is responsible for managing a team of 15, ensuring the program deliveries are on track, proper SDLC procedures are being followed and serving as the primary face-off to the General Council and the Head of Compliance for the IB.The portfolio delivery manager will: Actively partner with the business to set overall technology priorities and help translate business issues and overall technical strategy Manage the upgrade and transformation of the existing Legal & Compliance technology infrastructure Manage all components of the group including budgeting, resourcing and staff development Ensure effective delivery of all technology projects Interface with other Sr. IT managers to support firm-wide technology efforts and ensure solutions delivered by the group effectively integrate with the banks overall technology strategy Specific ResponsibilitiesThe Individual must be self-starting, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be customer orientated. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years experience working on large technology projects and possess excellent project management skills. This position requires a good level of technical skills, the ability to manage tense situations and resolve complex problems creatively. The candidate must demonstrate proven leadership and be highly committed: reliable, responsive and knowledgeable. It is highly desirable that the candidate has prior financial services and legal and compliance experience.Specifically, this position requires:? Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of general retail banking business processes? Management of effective and timely resolution of project problems? Demonstrable skills in communicating technical issues? Promotion of the overall stability of the system through improved support initiatives? Development of a broad knowledge and understanding of the global support model, technology and business issues in order to identify specifications to improve the supportability of the service. ? Functioning as a liaison to the business, ensuring that issues important to the users are identified and addressed or directed to the appropriate area.? Develop effective lines of communication with customers, business clients and within TechnologyPeriodic Responsibilities (performed as needed)? Coordinating and managing system releases? Drive product packaging of new products and enhancements to the software? Ensure there is adequate application documentation for training, cross-training and troubleshootingKey ContributionsWith reference to specific experiences (work or non-work related), candidates must demonstrate:Client? REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications:We Require
Undergraduate degree is essential. Specialization in Computer Science, Engineering or Business related discipline. MBA desirable
8 - 10 years in IT, preferably in development using the essential technical skills listed below
Periodic mobility may be requiredProfessional & Technical ExpertiseTeam leading experience, preferably in a global production environmentThe following technical skills are ESSENTIAL
Understanding of relational databases
Understanding of distributed systems
Understanding of client server systemsExposure to the following would be an advantage (successful candidates would be able to gain this experience):
Unix: including scripting (preferably Perl)
Any RDBMS (preferably Oracle)
Java and/or JSP
HTML
ORBIX and CORBA
C (or other 3GL) or C++ (and Visual C++)
