Chartered in 1746, and known as the College of New Jersey until 1896, it was British North America's fourth college.Position Summary: The Academic Services department of Princeton University's Office of Information Technology (OIT) seeks a High Performance Computing Specialist to join its Computational Science & Engineering Support group. The High Performance Computing Specialist is responsible for providing administration support for clusters based on Linux and for other specialized systems such as IBM Blue Gene. This support will be at the operating system level as well as at the service level including workload management and scheduling for the systems. This position will also be involved in hardware maintenance of these systems as well as large disk storage systems. Other responsibilities will include installing and maintaining commercially licensed software and license servers as well as building and configuring open source software packages for use by the entire university community.Job Function: Systems ProfessionalGrade: AIT 020Standard Hours: 36.25Eligible for Overtime: NoJob Requirements
Essential Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience as a Linux system administrator. The successful candidate must also have the following skills: - Experience administering High Performance Computing Clusters - Experience building and compiling Open Source software - Experience with torque and maui - Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills(oral and written) and ability to work effectively in teams - Strong analytical and problem solving skills - The ability to multi-task between multiple projects - The ability to communicate effectively with diverse user base having varied levels of technical proficiencies A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent previous experienceEducation Required: Other-see essential qualifications
