GENERAL MANAGER -SALES (at least 5yrs.exp. of managing big box)
Position Purpose: The General Manager accepts four-wall accountability: they are responsible
for everything that happens within the store, including customer service,
sales, installation, delivery, inventory management, and merchandising.
They are accountable to recruit, hire, train and develop exceptional,
sales-driven teams while creating and enforcing a culture of outstanding
customer service. The general manager is responsible for building
relationships with departments throughout the organization and with outside
vendors, and for communicating critical company information and directives
to store personnel. Job Requirements
Essential Job Duties:
Recruitment, Development and Retention of Talent.
Build the best possible retail team by recruiting and hiring a
performance-driven, customer-focused team.
Complete new hire paperwork on time and accurately to ensure all
partners enjoy a smooth and successful on-boarding experience.
Ensure every new partner is trained in the Ultimate on-boarding
program.
Coach, teach and train existing partners to achieve maximum
potential, including product knowledge, customer service skills and selling
techniques.
Review monthly goal setting sessions facilitated by the Assistant
General Managers to maximize every partner’s success.
Regularly communicate honest feedback of strengths and
developmental needs to everyone in your department.
Focus on Exceptional Customer Experience
Continually inspect customer service by observing, interacting and coaching
partners to provide the world’s best experience in consumer electronics.
Maintain the store property to leave a positive impression on
every customer.
Merchandise products according to merchandising plan guidelines to
ensure all products are enticing to our customers.
Ensure that customer problems are resolved in a timely fashion to
the best of your team’s ability.
Ensure proper staffing in all departments to support an excellent
customer experience.Leadership and Management
Promote a professional, fun, work environment through high standards and
recognition for excellence.
Provide leadership and guidance to fellow management team members to ensure
the overall success of the store.
Drive to be the best in company focus goals and profit.
Ensure all departments adhere to the Ultimate Standard Operating
Procedures, a collection of documents which define the business processes
for all store-related operations.
Ensure all departments adhere to the Ultimate Electronics SOP guidelines.
Manage the general ledger to ensure your store is profitable; take action
to adjust expenses when appropriate.
Maintain high quality inventory by managing open box and discontinued
merchandise levels.
Minimize inventory shrink by enforcing inventory control processes outlined
in the standard operating procedures.
Monitor the competition to build a winning strategy and grow your
business.
Execute special projects from the store support center as needed.
Ensure legal compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws
in all store operations.
Prerequisites for the Job:
High School diploma or GED is required. Additional Education such as
technical school or college strongly preferred.
Three to five years prior store management experience is required.
Experience in the consumer electronics industry with a minimum store volume
of $8 million is preferred.
Demonstrates strong leadership qualities.
Strong at selecting and developing top talent.
Strong communication and decision making skills.
High sense of urgency - delivers on the critical few.
Relishes new opportunities.
Lives and contributes to building the company mission statement.
Strong attention to customer service issues.
Familiarity with profit and loss statements and financial responsibility.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels both inside and outside
the organization.
