Senior Cost Analyst/Financial Analyst/Cost Accountant


We seek an enthusiastic, organized, self-starter who is proactive that works well in a fast paced environment as Senior Cost Accountant

Knowledge/experience of Cost Accounting (in Manufacturing and Distribution) AND GAAP are required. Please do NOT apply unless you meet both requirements. Other requirements are MS Word and Advanced level of Excel. Experience of JDEdwards OneWorld will be a big plus.

Essential duties and responsibilities include and are not limited to:


· Develop and maintain the cost accounting function.
o Ensure the accuracy of standard costs and ensuring that variances to standard are monitored and properly accounted for.

o Work with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to ensure that all bills of materials accurately reflect the most current information.

o Work to develop a more accurate means of applying overhead to products that are driven on activity basis.
o Re-Engineer the cost systems of the company.
o Cost new products.
· Plan, organize and develop reporting, including standard cost maintenance and control, cost estimating to standard, work order financial management and analysis of variances and manufacturing expenses, inventory accounting and control.

· Prepare and analyze monthly gross margins and provide ongoing support to operations in areas such as budget to actual cost control along with other related responsibilities as required.

· Proactively in identifying areas to improve efficiency in the cost accounting function.
· Monthly closing activities pertaining to your area, including creation of journal entries.
· Maintain a good understanding of all financial systems, and assists with system and procedure design, modifications, and documentation.

· Become leader with annual physical inventory.
· Assist with audits, and system developments and improvements.
· Provide support to management for special projects as directed.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferably with minimum 4 years of experience in operations/cost analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Competently analyzes and prioritizes information to make appropriate recommendations.
· Excellent problem solving skills.
· Synthesizes all forms of research into clear, thoughtful, actionable deliverables
· Skilled at completing and recording financial transactions. Able to develop information for financial statements.

· Pays attention to detail. Approaches work in a meticulous and thorough manner.
· Can be trusted to keep sensitive information secure
· Can work extended hours if needed.
