Summary:These positions are located in Melville as part of the HomeGate Settlement Services group. HomeGate Settlement Services is a vendor management company that was established by American Home Mortgage to help expedite the mortgage process by managing third party vendors while limiting the amount of fraud the company is exposed to. While HomeGate processes flood insurance and credit reports, the main function of HomeGate is the ordering, processing and underwriting of the appraisals for AHM. HomeGate Settlement Services is a fast paced, fast growing environment looking for hard working individuals who are dedicating in starting a career in business and growing with a Company.
Some of the specific responsibilities assigned to this position are:- Review appraisal reports to insure collateral is acceptable to FHA and AHM guidelines
- Contact appraisers and resolve any issues with appraisal report
- Effectively communicate underwriting decision to the client (AHM Operation Staff)
- Meet daily goals as set by management, and communicate appraisal issues in a timely manner that may impact daily workflow or ability to decision an appraisal
- Adhere to the department's telephone standards - Permitted number of monthly RONA's, the percentage of time in Aux, and the amount of time a call can be in the status 'Max Delay'
REQUIREMENTS
- College Degree and minimum 2 years prior processing or underwriting experience of complete credit and collateral packages or minimum 3 years of FHA appraisal review experience
- DE and/or LAPP certification required
- Working knowledge of investor's (FNMA/FHLMC/FHA & Others) credit and collateral acceptability guidelines
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment
- Motivated team player with excellent communication skills - Verbal and Written
- Ability to work overtime as required by business
- Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through skills
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Computer skills: D/U, L/P, Microsoft Office
