Job Description:
The Ethnicity Functional Leader is responsible for leading the firm’s strategies and activities toward achieving an inclusive environment. He/she is expected to work closely with national leaders, geographic areas and business units and with the firm’s Americas Ethnicity Diversity taskforce. He/she will be responsible for coordinating the firm’s communications both internally and externally and for building relationships with current and target clients who are responsible for ethnic diversity in their respective organizations. Responsibilities Leads the shaping of metrics and performance targets to monitor the firm’s effectiveness in meeting the goals of its diversity strategies and the creation of an inclusive environment. Leads organizational efforts used to prompt the actions and behaviors needed to carry out our people strategies and live our firm values to support the creation of an inclusive environment. Leads benchmarking studies and internal programs and activities to increase development and career advancement opportunities for minorities within the firm. Responsible for establishing Balanced Scorecard (BSC) goals and activities to support the firm’s vision and ensures targets are being reached. Establishes and ensures goals and priorities within Inclusiveness are being achieved. Recommends and implements short and long-term strategic objectives within Inclusiveness and in conjunction with the firm’s overall people goals (and be accountable for achieving measures set forth). Partners with immediate team to align the Office of Diversity Strategy & Development's overall strategy with firm values and philosophy. Works directly with National Director to set aggressive, realistic goals to create equity in leadership demographics, the firm's numerous developmental pipelines and career development initiatives for our minority professionals. Engages in dialogue with leadership to continually sustain the momentum needed to cultivate an inclusive environment by providing the business case for diversity as it relates to and impacts the marketplace, our industry and our firm. Serves as a liaison to geographical areas and national business units providing consultative assistance, internal/external resources and best practices to meet specific area challenges as it relates to minority career development, advancement and retention. Works with geographical areas to align area Balanced Scorecard objectives with the Americas objectives as well as positioning them to facilitate change and meet challenges within the area. Leverages resources inside or outside the Inclusiveness team to accomplish and integrate diversity messages through the firm. Shares own knowledge and expertise at a firm level; serves as a subject matter specialist to the firm. Stays abreast of leading practices and external trends within diversity strategy and development and integrates these trends to meet the needs of the firm. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: To qualify, candidates must have: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree highly desired Minimum of 10 years of work experience in a human resources or similar role Client-Service experience in a professional services environment is highly desired Prior diversity experience preferred Strong problem-solving, network development, and knowledge-sharing skills A commitment to delivering quality work, achieving results, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism Background and experience in developing and managing budgets The successful candidate must also be willing and able to travel, as necessary.
