Director of Business Unit Operations
This position is responsible for ensuring appropriate business and financial support is provided to the Region through (1) developing and implementing management tools for maximizing sales efficiencies, (2) creating, developing, and implementing strategies for improving cost efficiency opportunities in sales overhead, marketing, and commissions so as to promote fiscal responsibility at all monetary levels and at all levels of the Region, (3) reviewing, modeling, and preparing senior management recommendations regarding proposed business opportunities to ensure reasonable and appropriate revenue and cost projections and objectives influence the decision-making process, and (4) directing and ensuring proper internal controls and corporate policies and procedures are established and are being adhered to at all levels of the Region. This position will also be responsible for ensuring appropriate support is provided to Corporate senior management through directing and managing the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Region sites as well as managing projects impacting all Regional being conducted by corporate financial analysis personnel. In summary, this individual will be responsible for all business and financial support for the Region, whether initiated or driven by the site and/or Region level or corporate level.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1)Direct and manage the Region and individual site budget process, directly coordinating the activities in this process of the site and Region with the
Regional VP and corporate financial staff as well as other key operational personnel within the Region to ensure all business activities are appropriately and reasonably accounted for and projected results documented.
2)Direct site administrative and operational personnel on business andfinancial activities and decisions, including but not limited to ensuring
compensation structures and processes are reasonable, marketing programs are properly structured to ensure resources used are cost-beneficial, staffing
levels are at levels of optimum efficiency, and monies are used in direct benefit to corporate objectives and profitability.
3)Ensure internal control structure is in place and is functioning properly to prevent manipulation of Company systems and records, employee theft, and inaccurate financial reporting through establishing the proper structure and managing site personnel operating within it.
4)Manage corporate financial analysis personnel, directing and guiding projects developed and conducted for corporate as well as site and Region sales and marketing initiatives, ensuring objectives are properly defined for project personnel, appropriately acted upon, reviewed, and managed, and ensuring clear results and recommendations are presented to senior management.
5)Perform financial statement research and analysis, including development and preparation of financial management reports for corporate and site/ Region management, identifying significant trends in operations and presenting to senior management appropriate recommendations for action on opportunities directly identified.
6)Development and implementation of management tools to maximize sales and operational efficiencies.
7)Development, modeling, and preparation of senior management recommendations regarding proposed business opportunities to ensure reasonable and appropriate revenue and cost projections and objectives influence the decision-making process at the senior management level. REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
CPA or MBA preferred, but not mandatory
5 to 7 years progressive financial experience
Timeshare experience preferred, but not mandatory
Expert knowledge of GAAP as well as financial and statistical analysis
Team management skills mandatory
Must be self-motivated, being able to manage multiple projects while incorporating work style with team objectives at both the BU and corporate level
Must be well organized and able to perform under stressful situations
Must be able to communicate and partner effectively with all levels of the organization
Must be decision-minded, capable of providing senior management clear paths to optimal results desired
