Director, Retail Finance
Director, Retail Finance is a new position that will work both independently and with executive staff and senior leaders within the Retail Channel and across the company. Leveraging deep analytical skills, this role delivers big insights and helps leaders throughout the business make critical strategic and operational decisions. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Retail Sales for T-Mobile USA and its success is measured by how pervasively its work impacts important business decisions and shapes the strategic direction of this Channel.
ROLE:
As a Director, Retail Finance, you have the unique opportunity to have a direct and measurable impact on T-Mobile's strategic Retail direction and the company's bottom line. You'll need skills that enable you to: play in other people's sandboxes, rapidly learn the nuances of the Retail Channel and industry, complete robust analyses, and recommend meaningful changes for the better. This role favors the extremely analytical (i.e. like to roll up their sleeves with data, spreadsheets, and models) who thrive on the challenges inherent in dissecting complex problems and delivering clear recommendations to improve results. This position interacts with senior leaders across the company and so must also be able to communicate complicated analysis, logic, and solutions in a clear and concise manner. Given the impact this position can have on company direction, you must feel comfortable taking and defending polarizing positions based on your work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Plan, Financial Analysis of Retail Processes, Retail Management Reporting, and Budgeting and Strategic Planning of our Retail Organization.
Capital budget analysis including cost/benefit modeling and analysis.
Financial management of our 1100+ Retail locations in the areas of: analysis, account reconciliation, internal controls and general cost management to include profit and loss analysis at an individual store level.
Key liaison for Retail with such business units as Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis.
Champion the business and financial objectives of Retail while maintaining diplomatic and cooperative relationships with other financial departments.
Construct executive level presentations and present complex analytical findings in clear, concise, and decision-impacting manner.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of strategic frameworks, industry trends, and corporate and customer drivers in order to improve, reengineer, or maintain company performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Rather than taking a defined model and plugging in numbers, you're building the financial analyses for our Retail Channel from the ground up, testing multiple hypotheses, and developing new ideas from scratch. We are looking for a highly motivated, aggressive and diplomatic business professional that has a solid track record of budgeting, financial planning and analysis, and financial modeling. This person must also have significant management experience in developing a team and enjoy working hard to achieve results. Specifically, we're looking for someone with:
