Development Analyst

Summary: Provides analytical support for the Mixed-Use Development West team, whose primary development goal is to provide superior quality mixed-use projects emphasizing unique architectural design and efficient site planning coupled with signature urban atmospheres.



Essential duties and responsibilities:

Performs underwriting and financial modeling for various types of apartment communities and mixed use developments;

Performs and documents competitive market analysis for new transactions, including research of existing inventory and tracking of new development pipeline;

Prepares detailed pro forma financial models, including ROI, NPV, IRR and equity multiple analysis for new development proposals and approvals;

Assists in the preparation of investment memoranda for senior management;

Prepares and analyzes market surveys;
Prepares pipeline reports and monitors future supply in assigned national markets;

Responds to reporting requests from Archstone-Smith Corporate Office;

Assists with special assignments and projects;










Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; Qualified candidates should have two to four years related real estate financial analyst experience and/or training. Candidates must also have the following skills:
Willingness to work with others in a fast paced environment;
Demonstrable attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness;

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals;

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and general public.

Intermediate Outlook, MS Word, Excel and Power Point skills;

Intermediate Map Making, MS Project and database skills;


Hair follicle drug test and criminal background check required.
