The job:The U.S. Department of Education Assistant Collection Manager is responsible for the leadership, motivation and retention of a team of unit managers and collectors. This candidate will report directly to the Contract Regional Collection Manager and will be part of one of the most sought after debt collection contracts in the nation and one of the largest contracts in the Corporation. They will assist in strategy development designed to obtain office goals, manage and develop unit managers, train collection staff in proper collection procedures and techniques, provide coaching and feedback, and attain group and assigned client collection objectives.
Responsibilities: Manage and lead a team of up to 50 collectors and 5 unit managers.
Train and develop unit managers on leadership skills, contract knowledgeand compliance, and collection techniques.
Implement and manage the collection strategies that have been developed to achieve higher competitive performance.
Handle escalated calls from borrowers to ensure resolution and compliance. Monitor team productivity.
Track unit and collector performance.
Work closely with Regional Collection Manager on ways to improve contract strategy and results. Ensure FDCPA and contract compliance. General management responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Requirements: 3rd party collection experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent general business experience. Two to five year's experience as a call center manager or a collections manager. Strong analytical, time management, organizational and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work under goal-related pressure and be self-directed with good business judgment. Proven track record demonstrating ability to motive a team. Professional conduct and appearance. Flexibility with work schedule. FACS system and MS Excel knowledge a plus.
