Individuals will be responsible for executing various Assurance support engagements by analyzing data on behalf of audit teams and clients. These responsibilities will include:Demonstrating a basic understanding of and ability to apply accounting/auditing knowledge
Establishing technical skills in tools such as ACL, Monarch, Access and SQL Server
Working cooperatively with data management staff/management, audit teams and clients to determine appropriate data analyses to be performed
Establishing an understanding of general ledger systems to determine appropriate data to be requested for analysis
Validating data format and completeness by verifying control totals against the general ledger
Writing scripts to perform analytics on client data, to include: SAS 99 (Fraud Analysis)
Accounts Receivable Analysis
Liquidating Accounts Receivable
Accounts Payable Analysis
Search for Unrecorded Liabilities
Fixed Asset Analysis
Inventory AnalysisThe Senior Associate will be responsible for expanding their technical skills in order to analyze data from various different client systems in conjunction with PwC audit teams. The analysis performed will be used by the audit team to identify unusual transactions, duplicate payments and other trends. In addition, the Senior Associate will be responsible for documenting and communicating findings to audit teams, DMG management and clients. The Senior Associate will also be responsible for data analysis on various platforms, performing coding, documentation and testing, and assisting in the management of projects from pre-sales and initial scoping through final delivery and sign-off. Must have a basic understanding of major audit areas, such as AR, AP, Liabilities, Fixed Assets, etc., in order to design appropriate data analysis tests and articulate results to the client and audit team.Data Management builds data accumulation, analysis and reporting engines that facilitate decision making processes within financial system audits, litigation support, mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs, corporate re-organizations, and other types of data intensive evaluation projects. (Data Analysis)Data Management identifies critical data supporting business processes and then performs assessments to determine the reliability of the information as well as any data gaps. After the assessment process, a data cleansing plan is developed and executed. Next, a data management strategy is created to sustain data quality. (Data Quality)The team assists clients in the management of data conversions to preserve information integrity and to maximize the value of legacy data within new ERP or Data Warehouse environments. (Data Transformation)The team also creates stand-alone databases and bolt-on analytical environments, which provide a tool to monitor key business performance metrics, to assess internal/external business intelligence and to perform system reconciliations. REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
A B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting or in a highly related Business major is required.Essential Requirements:
Candidates should possess 3 or more years of accounting and/or auditing experience, with a Big 4 accounting/audit firm or equivalent, in the manufacturing or retail industries. Candidate should also have the desire to learn programming skills, which will be used to code tests defined by the audit team. The candidate must have the ability to analyze data results, create ad-hoc reports upon request and research and resolve complex data logic issues. In addition, the candidate must possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with audit teams to execute work and present findings to teams and clients.Knowledge of ACL, Monarch, and Access a plus. Must be able to resolve data logic issues and to modify data analysis techniques as appropriate.
