DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
* Perform system administration tasks.
Perform system backups and disaster recovery per established procedures.
Automate processes to facilitate 7x24 availability of systems.
Recommend and implement changes to systems procedures.
Assist in maintaining version control of various software products.
Work with the Technical Support Group as needed to supportcorporate systems.
Develop tools and utilities - SQL, Shell Scripts, HTML, Java Script, IIS/ASP, J2EE, MS Visual Studio, C++, C# and content authoringtools.
Perform upgrades of operating systems (UNIX), DBMS, and tools.
Recommend and implement changes to improve database performance.
Participate in developing corporate strategic plan.
Provide input required for the annual budgeting process.
Keep detailed records of and maintain written documentation of system administration activities and procedures.
Requirements:
* 7+ years supporting/maintaining databases in multi-platformenvironment (MS, UNIX, and Mainframe.
Responsible for all aspects of OS-level system administration on multi-platform servers.
Strong problem-solving skills, technical aptitude, and communication skills.
Experience in ERP business applications (SAP), financial applications, and management reporting.
Strong experience with SQL, Oracle, object orientedenvironments, and web design/web content management applications.
Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, DNS, and firewalls.
4-6 years experience in system and database administration with increasing levels of responsibility.
Knowledge of client/server and web based applications and technologies.
3+ years in UNIX system administration.
3+ years experience with MS 2K/2K3 system administration.
Knowledge of UNIX operating systems, 2K, and Windows XP.
Knowledge of UNIX shell programming, Perl, and the C programming language.
Knowledge of system and database administration principles.
Familiarity with TCP/IP networks.
Familiarity with administration of Oracle and SQL databases.
Strong MS SQL Server DBA and development experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related field.
