Individuals will be responsible for various audit support engagements. Understanding of accounting/auditing concepts (3-4 years of public accounting a must)
Understanding client general ledger systems
Requesting data for specific tests to be performed
Validating data format
Verifying control totals against general ledger
Writing scripts to meet objectives defined by the audit teamsAreas of audit support will focus on the following: SAS 99 (Fraud Analysis)
Accounts Receivable Analysis
Liquidating Accounts Receivable
Accounts Payable Analysis
Search for Unrecorded Liabilities
Fixed Asset Analysis
Inventory AnalysisThe Senior Associate will be responsible for data analysis on various platforms, performing coding, documentation and testing, and assisting in the management of projects from pre-sales and initial scoping through final delivery and sign-off. The role also requires supervision and coaching of 2-3 junior resources. Must understand major business cycles (purchases, sales, etc.) to be able to design appropriate data analysis tests in order to articulate results to the client.The Data Management Group builds data accumulation, analysis and reporting engines that facilitate decision making processes within financial system audits, litigation support, mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs, corporate re-organizations, and other types of data intensive evaluation projects.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
A B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting or highly related Business major is required.Essential Requirements:
Candidates should possess accounting and/or auditing experience in the manufacturing, retail industries, or financial services (hedge fund/private equity). Candidates should also have the desire to learn programming skills which will be used to code tests defined by the audit team. Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to work with the audit team to analyze data results and create ad-hoc reports upon request. In addition the Senior Associate will research problems/issues and develop effective solutions.Knowledge of ACL, Monarch, Access, and Excel a plus. Must be able to resolve data logic issues and modify data analysis techniques as appropriate.
