Cost Recognition Manager

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the VP, Controller, this position directs the daily operations of this company's Cost Recognition Department within a business segment. This position is responsible for ensuring that cost of goods sold is appropriately recognized on all of the company's products, and that all 'post-finished goods' inventory is appropriately valued according to generally accepted accounting principles. Functions under the position's responsibility include: third-party software royalty tracking and reporting, outbound in-transit inventory valuation, operating lease asset valuation, inbound in-transit inventory valuation, and cost of goods recognition related to miscellaneous parts and upgrade kits. This position will also work closely with the Corporate SOX Compliance Manager to drive SOX compliance within the organization. On a daily basis, this position works with managers and supervisors to control the company's assets and to ensure the proper accounting and recording of company transactions; provides financial statements, analysis, and other key management reports on a monthly basis. This position ensures company compliance with corporate policies. This position interacts with internal and external auditors as required; fulfills a critical role in company-wide and accounting-specific system implementations; participates on company committees and strategic teams.
