Controller / CFO
Controller / CFO
alwaysBEthere (aBt), USA's largest independent producer of real-time mobile solutions for enterprise, seeks to add a Controller, as a key talent in our growth initiative. We prefer you have the aptitude to move to your next level of development, as opposed to somehow already having "seen it all" or "done it all." aBt is an acknowledged leader in a high-profile, emerging field of management science. Energy and inventiveness combined with accountability is much more important than having held high posts in mature industries. In other words, this position is a perfect fit for an "up-and-coming" accounting and finance whiz that is looking to be a key contributor to a high-growth organization that is helping to define the wireless future.
REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-- Accounting and financial leadership
-- Day-to-day management and oversight responsibility for AR, AP, payroll, payroll compliance, benefits compliance (you will have accounting clerks and assistants to assist with routine chores such as billing, receivables, payables, disbursements, and bank reconciliations).
-- Invoicing of customers including revenue claims and revenue reconciliation with our partners’ revenue share programs which includes charge-backs, under-payments, omitted items, and disputed items
-- Revenue reporting and statistical presentation to aBt management, aBt divisions, and partners
-- Strategic finance relationship management (i.e., Banks, Investors, Creditors, Auditors, and Tax Accountants)
-- Corporate financial reporting -- Internal managerial reporting (P&L and B/S by operating unit)
-- Predictive financial modeling
-- Special-situation financial modeling including potential private and public debt or equity financings
-- Analysis of special corporate alignments including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and real estate
-- Quarterly board-of-director presentations
You must be a dedicated, competent, and persistent individual--by nature, as opposed to putting out effort as a mere act of exchange for money, fame, or release from obligation. We have grown to our position of minor, but noteworthy, leadership through brutal honesty, persistence, continuous improvement, and competence. We prefer to make our efforts count.
Credentials must include:
-- Formal Accounting Education or a CPA or a CMA. Tell us what constitutes your satisfaction of this requirement to your way of thinking. We want to know about your dual-entry accounting experience or one or several comprehensive bases of accounting such as GAAP, US TAX, EC UAAP, Managerial, and the like. If your training or experience is divergent from the classical bookkeeping models, be prepared to defend the same at the level of a Ph.D. dissertation. There are legitimate, non-conventional ways to learn accounting or the accounting model. If you took an alternative path, be brave and show us what you've learned.
-- Demonstrated Academic Achievement. It is up to you to convey this to us. One form of evidence might include great work at a top university. Other demonstrations include top standing at known universities. Just "good" grades at a good university will beg some explanation. However, maybe you didn't achieve top standing but have mitigating circumstances, such as having to work a full-time job during school, outstanding achievement in extra-curricular activities, or having to head a family or some other challenging organization.
-- Demonstrated Ability to Organize or Systematize Complexity. This must include a case history where you define the degree of complexity that was presented to your skills, how, specifically, you tackled the complexity, why you did what you did, and how successfully you tackled it, based on your own defined measurement of success. Give us an idea of how much value was created with your quelling chaotic waters.
-- Achievement in any Meaningful Endeavor. This can be anything you want. Examples include being drafted to the Calgary Flames, winning the one scholarship available each year for opera at the world's top music school, and finishing 29th in the world by driving a golf ball 400 feet off the tee. Tell us something great. This role draws directly from the counsel of the Chairman and reports to the CEO and President. In addition, our customers and clients will also be relying upon you as the results-reporting contact of aBt. If these requirements seem foreboding, please pass and write this off as a bad-reading investment. If, on the other hand, you've been looking for an opportunity that not only rewards performance but also requires it, where you can make your mark and be a key part of something great, you may have found your place.
