Controller

Responsibilities: The company is an IT content publishing company and it is just getting off the ground and the company will be in the development stages. A large part of the temporary Controller role will be HR/benefit related as we plan to ramp up on staffing pretty fast. Anticipate approximately 25 employees within the first year - we have 5 out of the gate and already working on recruiting more. The good news is since they are in development stage the Controller will have time to work on system set up and maintenance and not have many transactions yet. It will help if they are familiar with accounting standards on software and web development costs. This role will be responsible for working on forecasting and budgeting and monitoring cash flow, which are all critical in a start-up company. The role will handle everything from calling in payroll (Paychex is our payroll company) and cutting checks for vendors/maintaining accounting records & hr records, etc.).
