Capital One Home Loans is seeking a highly-motivated, experienced, detail-oriented Compliance/Quality Control Associate to work at our Overland Park, KS location. The position entails assisting the Director of Compliance with the monitoring and reporting aspects of the compliance management program by reviewing loan files, reports, policies and procedures for compliance with federal, state and investor requirements, and drafting reports of findings and recommendations to management.



This position will be reponsible for performing regularly scheduled reviews of loan files, management reports and other documents for manifest compliance with applicable federal, state and investor requirements, and drafting timely reports of findings noted. Will participate in team-based approach to finding sustainable solutions to issues noted. Also responsible for validating any corrective actions implemented. Will be expected to interact and develop positive working relationships with staff and line management, compliance department team members, internal auditors and other risk professionals throughout the organization. Will also assist in preparation for and management of various internal audits and compliance examinations.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates must have working knowledge of federal consumer lending laws and regulations (e.g. Reg. Z, RESPA, HMDA, Flood, FCRA, Reg. B, etc.), as well as 3-5 years experience in mortgage loan industry (experience in Compliance, Audit, Loan Review, Quality Control preferred). Must possess excellent analytical, communication (verbal and written), organizational and report writing skills. Associate must work well independently and as part of a group, and have the ability to adapt to changes in corporate priorities and risks. Standard computer competency is required.



Education: Bachelor’s or higher education or equivalent experience required; industry certification (e.g. CRCM, CQAP, etc.) is preferred or applicant must be willing to obtain a professional certification.
