Commercial Credit Analyst





Position Purpose

Assist commercial loan officers in granting and maintaining sound business loans by developing comprehensive information through analysis of financial, business and collateral data. Actively participate in the growth of the commercial loan portfolio.

Essential Functions

Accurately spreads and analyzes financial statements and tax returns for loan officers.
Conducts interviews with customers as directed by commercial lending officers to obtain financial information, clarify trends, and accurately analyze operations of the business.
Clearly identifies loan purpose, sources of repayment and collateral value.
Prepares L-94 credit package for submission to the weekly Senior Loan Committee.
Recommend loan structures to commercial lending officers: negotiates terms and conditions within assigned parameters including preparation of the credit write-up.
Maintains current knowledge of external factors, including economic and industry conditions, which affect loan quality.
Ability to perform all functions of Client Advisor and Excel.
Prepares written analysis to accurately portray problems, trends, and changes in financial statements, cash flow, and ratios.
Works with commercial loan officers and Credit Administrator in determining steps to be taken in correcting problem loans and avoiding future problems.
Understands loan policy and operates within policy guidelines.
Manages maturing loan reports.
Manages loan delinquencies and alerts commercial loan officers and Credit Administrator to problems or unusual trends and addresses problem areas immediately.
Complies with governing regulations by maintaining current knowledge of commercial law, UCC and banking regulations/ policy to ensure conformity with required laws and terms.

Other Responsibilities

Prepares updates and special reports for Chief Lending Officer and commercial loan officers.
Maintains tickler file for loan conditions, compliance and covenants-monthly.
Prepares Borrowing Base certificates and monitors accounts receivable agings.
Assists with special projects as directed by supervisor.

Commercial Credit Analyst





Qualifications

College degree in business, economics or related field, or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and written skills.
Mature, outgoing, professional attitude with customers, prospects and co-workers with a high regard for confidentiality.
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of lending and bank operations.
Proficient in Word and Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to make sound decisions.
