Within
the Capital Markets Group, Risk Assurance and Advisory Services ("RAA") works with clients to provide in-depth accounting and risk expertise. We provide services to leading multinational corporations, investment banks, global financial institutions, insurance companies, energy companies, and commodity hedgers located throughout the world. We assist clients in resolving complex accounting matters, improving their abilities to measure and manage risks such as market, credit and operational risk, and enhancing the reliability of their systems and processes. We help clients draw the necessary information from the capital markets, customers, regulators and other sources, analyze the information across risk classes, and report the information to client management to facilitate tactical and strategic decision making. We are organized to meet the global needs of companies through our network of professionals located in the world's major financial centers. We are looking to expand our practice with the addition of

Description of Responsibilities:
- Play a substantive/lead role in client relationship and communication
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the capital markets environment and the accounting for derivatives and financial instruments.
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of clients' business
- Demonstrate team-building and project management skills.
- Research and perform initial analysis on complex accounting issues.
- Potential for leadership role on a team in analyzing structured transactions.
- Advise audit engagement teams and clients on the accounting for and auditing of financial instruments, derivatives and risk management activities.
- Assist clients reengineer existing, and in many cases, design new treasury and accounting processes around the use of derivatives and structured finance transactions.
- Evaluate internal controls
around the trading, settlement and accounting of financial instruments and derivatives.
- Assist clients with the implementation of derivative systems; this includes helping prepare the accounting rules to be programmed into the system, execute test plans of the accounting module, and prepare potential internal reports.
- Opportunity to coordinate and team with professionals in other areas of Capital Markets and Deloitte.
- Serve a wide variety of clients including multinational corporations, investment banks, global financial institutions, insurance companies, energy companies, and commodity hedgers.
- Work closely with RAA management to develop business opportunities.
- Contribute to proposal development and marketing. - BS with concentration/major in Accounting or Finance (Master's level degree a plus)
- 5+ years audit experience
- CPA or desire to attain CPA
- Strong analytical and organization skills
- Excellent oral and
written communication skills
- Strong work ethic with high desire to succeed
- Team-oriented
- Basic understanding of financial instruments (derivatives and special purpose entities preferable)
- Prior public accounting or consulting experience a plus
